M55 – Cape of Good Hope Ganloos photographic postcard Much travelled leaving Port Elizabeth No 25 1910 & finally returned to Cape Town Jy 12 1911!

Cape of Good Hope. An interesting, though battered, photographic postcard of Scenery at the Ganloos. What a Christmas card! Much travelled! Sent from Port Elizabeth, No 25 1910 to Kalgoorlie, Western Australia – arrived late January – 3 Ja 1911 but was re-directed to Southern Cross, received 3 May 1911 but was unclaimed (purple cachet). On the front of the postcard was stamped ‘Return Office Perth May 10, 1911’. Back to Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town. Returned letter office received it Jy 12 1911 – so, 29 days to Australia and 62 days back!
